Kaon Kraft is an absolute gem! This Japanese-themed speakeasy has a beautiful atmosphere and an amazing vibe that instantly sets the mood. The drinks were outstanding—highly recommend the Nina, which was perfectly crafted, and my partner loved the old fashioned. We also tried the buffalo cauliflower, and it was exceptional. This place is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and memorable cocktail experience!

Coming from out of state, my wife and I were looking for a nice, speak-easy style bar that I could enjoy some unique drinks at. I came across Kamon Bar and the drinks, ambiance, and presentation blew my mind! Even though I have never lived in Japan, I travel there quite often, and it definitely made me reminisce being in an upscale and quiet bar in Tokyo. Some may have mentioned that the music was loud but on a Sunday night it was pretty quiet and just added to the ambiance. I love Hibiki and Japanese whisky in general, and seeing the various (rare) bottles displayed throughout the bar just elevates the space and gives visitors so much interesting eye-candy to look at. The Hibiki room in the back was also very unique and offered glimpses of bottles I would never see in the US. Truly a wonderful place and would definitely be coming back.

Located inside Asa bakery. We arrived as a walk in and got seating at the bar. Nice vibe with strong craft cocktails for a great price. Unique ingredients like Goat Cheese Gin, Szechuan peppercorn, and pork fat wash. The menu is split up in highball, savory, direct, refreshing, etc. We got Trash panda (15) under Refreshing page with a mix of durian, lemon, creme de banana, and coconut infused. This was delicious except it was topped off with over flowing ice. Also got Black sesame Old Fashioned (15). For our second round, we got Umeshu highball (15) and Kohaku highball (16). Highball just means that it’s mixed with soda. The Kohaku tastes like a refreshing lemonade. For food we got Korean cucumber salad (7) and Honey koji Buffalo cauliflower (14). There’s a private lounge room in the back that seats about 10-15 people. If you want a table, best to rsvp.

This place is everything. We had so much fun trying all the drinks here, they were all SO good, sophisticated, well balanced, and unique. The service was tip top checking on us frequently and bringing food and drinks out fast! I was most surprised at how amazing the bar food is! The only downside is the parking! Street parking downtown is not fun - but thats not their fault. Here’s what we got: The stash - good balanced but boozy, sour with a tangy aftertaste. Keylime pie seems like an accurate description of the flavor 7/10 Tokyo banana - SO smooth, like I could sip this all day! Nice refreshing banana taste, but smells like graham cracker, a little tangy at the end of the sip. There’s just so many layers to this drink. The banana cream on top was also yummy. The salty cracker thing on top was good too 10/10 Umeboshi sour- love the sour foam and the presentation, can definitely taste the campari, but it is fairly fruity and surprisingly good for campari 6/10 Trash panda - can taste coconut well, the durian is also very noticeable but refreshing like a pina colada, not much pineapple taste in my opinion, very cinnamon-y, very creamy 8/10 Food: Tuna tostada - creamy, salty, crunchy, this is sooo good 15/10. The large tuna piece is hard to bite but I suppose kind of keeps it from falling off the tostada Bougie fries - smokey curry ketchup is pretty unique and delicious. Nice shaving of parmesan (although could use even more lol), spicy mayo sauce was also delicious! 10/10 Karaage - good tangy but not as crunchy as expected. I love a nice crunchy outside, its probably because the sauce was poured over rather than separate for dipping. I give it 8/10 for amazing flavor though, the cut is chicken thigh Wagyu surf and turf roll - very good, a little smokey taste from the seared beef on top. Nice sauce, doesnt need any soy sauce because theres already so much flavor. Really nicely balanced flavor 10/10 We will definitely be coming back in the future to try more!

The 2 drinks we chose were perfect and delicious Tokyo Banana and Trash Panda drinks Andy to eat Hokkaido Karaage (Hokkaido fried chicken Zangi style was verrryyy delicious per firs time here and won’t be our last , great customer service only thing that needs to be improved I think is the music what they seem to play sounds like when you call a number and they put you on hold very boring . Almost forgot bring your ID they ask for it !!!!!!!!!

Kamon is a relatively new speakeasy cocktail bar inside a bakery in San Diego. The theme here is Japanese bar vibes and the ambiance does a great job of matching that from the display of Suntory whiskies to the zen sand garden in the back. To enter you walk through the hidden door to the right of the bakery. Seating is intimate but because it’s a speakeasy you don’t need to shout which I appreciate. Our server was super helpful and took the time to explain each drink as the menu was fairly extensive. In the end the cocktails we choose were delicious and had such fun Asian inspired spins on them. I recommend trying one or many of them and spending a night here with friends!

We came here late on a Fri night without a res. The hostess and bartenders are truly special. All of them have a passion for making their guests feel special and very welcome. The setting is superb. The drinks are all so unique and delicious. We all had big smiles and felt so lucky and happy that we were there. Thanks for creating a bit of magic for us!

Bartenders and service are top notch. Some of the most unique drinks I have ever had. Can't wait to go back. Visit before the bakery closes to get the full speakeasy entrance experience.
